CAO Responsibilities Department of Homeland Security Lines of Business that are the responsibility of the Chief Administrative Officers include,
Asset and Logistics Management (Real Estate, Personal Property and Mobile Assets);
Occupational Safety and Environmental Programs (Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Planning (including NEPA) and Historic Preservation, Environmental Management and Energy Management),
Records, Publications and Mail Management (Mail Screening and Delivery, Records, Directives, Forms, Library Services, and Printing and Graphics).
Overall Forum Objective
The focus of the 2011 CAO forum will be on training and professional development for DHS administrative services personnel. Plenary and mini-plenary sessions will offer information on new governmental programs such as telework and flexible work place initiatives. Breakout sessions will provide participants opportunities to discuss administrative services best practices, evolving systems, regulations and compliance programs. In addition, the 2011 Forum will allow participants an opportunity to hear DHS Senior Leadership discuss and describe Administrative Services' vital role in helping achieve one DHS, one enterprise, a shared vision, and an integrated results-based administrative services.
